The Super Bowl of Sunday Scaries
Today feels like the Super Bowl of Sunday Scaries.
Most of us are coming back from, at best, a few weeks off, or at worst, a slower work pace. Whatever the case, we're finally in 2021, and are about to start the first full week of this highly sought-after year.
If your Sunday Scaries are off the charts now, consider these recommendations to get your week off to a less anxious start:
1. Find the Joy: Identify what you're looking forward to this week, put yourself in that moment, and feel the good feelings that will come from that experience.
2. Control the Controllables: There's a lot you can't control, but what is within your sphere of influence? Can you set some light boundaries for yourself to ease into the week? Maybe there's a new ritual you want to implement to improve your mindfulness. Whatever it is, be clear about what you DO have power over.
3. Begin at the End: Define what success looks like for you at the end of each day or the week. What will make you feel accomplished, confident, resilient, etc.? Name those success metrics and use that as a lens through which you'll make decisions during the day.
What else calms your Sunday Scaries?
